Fauvist Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa reinvented through the freedom of color

Free mint · Opening Oct 2, 2026

Fauvist Mona Lisa is a collection of 1,000 digital reinterpretations of the Mona Lisa inspired by the language of Fauvism and, above all, by the chromatic freedom associated with the work of Henri Matisse.

The idea takes one of the most recognized faces in the history of art and carries it into a universe where color no longer obeys reality and instead expresses energy, rhythm, personality and emotion.

In place of the restrained tones and the Renaissance atmosphere of Leonardo da Vinci's painting, there appear intense combinations of blue, red, green, yellow, violet, pink and orange, along with new garments, backgrounds, shapes, patterns and atmospheres.

Each image preserves the immediately recognizable reference to the Mona Lisa, yet presents a visual identity of its own.

This is not about reproducing a single painting 1,000 times. It is about creating 1,000 different interpretations of one and the same cultural icon.
